Designing social research at the intersection of anthropology, history, policy and program efficacy
I am trained in a variety of qualitative methods and can support your organization’s needs for research design, implementation and evaluation across a variety of sectors and subjects.
As a sociologist and curator, I employ humanistic social science to analyze the ways that black people deploy culture and citizenship to generate meanings of place, produce knowledge of community needs, embody memory, and forge spaces of resistance against converging systems of oppression. I have a passion for qualitative research and archival investigation, and have conducted fieldwork with African and African-descendant peoples in Southern and West Africa, Central America, Asia Minor, and the U.S. South and Mid-Atlantic.
